Astromaterials Repository Webinar Online

The newly-launched Astromaterials Data Repository (AstroRepo) stores, publishes, curates, and archives astromaterials data deposited by researchers and analytical laboratories following best practices for FAIR data.

We’ll be hosting a webinar on Tuesday, October 6 at 12:00PM (Eastern) with more information about AstroRepo and how you can submit your astromaterials sample data for inclusion.

Astromaterials Data Repository Webinar

The Astromaterials Data Repository is now online!

The Astromaterials Data Repository (AstroRepo) stores, publishes, curates, and archives astromaterials data deposited by researchers and analytical laboratories following best practices for FAIR data. Each dataset will be assigned a DOI and will be persistently accessible via a ‘landing page’ to which the DOI resolves.

Data deposition is made easy via a web-based submission page, where users can describe and upload their data. AstroRepo uses policies in compliance with the EarthChem Library.

Select OSIRIS-REx Sample Data Now Available in Astromaterials Data Archive

Data from the initial analyses of asteroid Bennu by the OSIRIS-REx Sample Analysis Team are now available in the Astromaterials Data Archive (ADA). Approximately 100 datasets are now accessible to download out of the ~500 datasets received to date. As future OREx publications are released, the associated datasets in ADA will be made publicly accessible.

Our team is planning a series of webinars starting Fall 2024 on archiving your data and accessing data through Astromat. Stay tuned here for the dates and registration information. Astromaterials Data System August 2024 Update

Join us for a collaborative workshop in conjunction with MetSoc24 on the evening of July 29th. This workshop is free and open to all that are interested in or work with astromaterials sample data, including meteorites. Dinner and drinks will be provided.

Time: ~5:30 PM – 9:00 PM (starting after MetSoc sessions end)

Location: The Hotel Brussels, 26th floor “MEET 26 THREE”, Boulevard de Waterloo 38, 1000 Brussels

(~15-minute walk down Boulevard de Waterloo from the MetSoc24 venue)
